Lok Adalat settles 133 cases in Poonch

POONCH, DECEMBER 17: A Lok Adalat organised under the supervision of Supreme Court and  High Court of J&K here in District Courts Poonch settled 133 cases of different natures.

 Judicial Officers, Bar Members, Bank Employees, litigants and general public participated  in the Lok Adalat with full enthusiasm.

While starting the Lok Adalat, Chairman DLSA Poonch, Ashok Kumar Shavan (Pr. Distt. & Sessions Judge), highlighted the positive aspects of Lok Adalat and described it as the need of the hour and stressed upon the general public to come forward to take benefit of the same.

At District H.Q three benches were constituted. The First bench was presided by Ashok Kumar Shavan Chairman DLSA (Pr. Distt &Sessions Judge) Poonch and assisted by Advocate Mohammad Aslam Chouhan.

Second Bench was presided by Madan Lal, CJM (Chairman TLSC Poonch) and assisted by Advocate Sanjay Raina.

Third Bench was presided over by Parvaiz Iqbal Additional District & Sessions Judge Poonch and assisted by Advocate Mukhtar Ahmed.

At Surankote, the bench was presided over by Manzoor Ahmed Khan, Chairman TLSC and assisted by  Tabraiz Ahmed Adll. Munsif Court Surankote. At Mendhar, the bench was presided over by Saloni, Chairman TLSC (JMIC) Mendhar.

A total of 160 cases were taken up in the Lok Adalat including civil, criminal, MACT, Bank Recovery, Pre-Litigation and other cases. Out of these 133 cases were settled by all the above mentioned benches by way of Mediation, Conciliation and compromise. In all 6 Matrimonial cases, 20 Criminal cases, 14 civil cases were also decided and a total amount of Rs. 606900/- was settled. Light refreshment was also served to all the participants.
