Kavinder visits Petroleum University in Gujarat; discusses ways to reduce dependence on petroleum

AHMADABAD,03-06-2023 : Kavinder Gupta, former Dy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader visited Pandit Deendayal Energy University in Gandhinagar, Gujarat and discussed ways to reduce dependence on petroleum and find alternative sources of energy.

Kavinder Gupta was received by Prof. Nigam Dave, Director of Liberal Studies, Prof. Pradeep Mallik, Dr. Harmik Vaishnav, Dr. Venkat Ram Reddy and Dr Sriram Divi. He was also honored by the senior functionaries of the University.

Notably, Pandit Deendayal Energy University formally known as Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University is the brainchild of former Chief Minister of Gujarat and the current Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.

Kavinder said that the University is designed by the amalgamation of technology, management, and humanities. It is equipped with state of art infrastructure with a self-sustainable model (1 MG powerplant on campus) and a vibrant community, which he liked the most.

He talked about the need to transition away from a petroleum-based economy and invest in renewable sources of energy, such as solar, wind, hydropower, and nuclear. He said investing in research and development to explore these technologies, as well as in the infrastructure to convert current energy systems to run on renewable sources of energy.

The senior BJP leader also discussed the need for public policy changes to provide incentives for increasing investments in renewable sources of energy and to create an environment where these sources of energy can be competitive.

Kavinder concluded his visit by saying that the university is taking a step forward in the right direction and he is confident that with the right efforts and dedication, they will be able to create an encouraging environment for the growth and development of renewable energy resources in India.
